U.S. Women's Open Provides Fourteen Golf With Two Top-10 Finishes
IRVINE, CA - July 9, 2012 - FOURTEEN GOLF, the recognized leader in wedge design with now 43 worldwide professional tour victories since 2010, proudly announced today that their forged wedges were put into play at the U.S. Women's Open to secure a second place finish as well as a tie for seventh.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, "Our wedges helped a lot of LPGA Professionals control Blackwolf's undulating, firm and fast greens; including the runner-up who tied her career best in a major. We congratulate her for putting together four solid rounds of play and for finishing in second place."
The difficulty of the Blackwolf Golf Course contributed to the long list of LPGA Professionals who relied on their FOURTEEN GOLF RM-11 Wedges with enlarged grooves. These bigger grooves translate to maximum spin with exceptional control, which was critical in playing this hazard filled golf course.
The new USGA conforming FOURTEEN GOLF trapezoidal grooves have been enlarged by 15% as compared to its predecessor.
This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots and provides extraordinary control, incomparable spin and precision like accuracy. To ensure optimal spin with precision and tighter tolerances, FOURTEEN GOLF mirror mills each larger groove on the RM-11 Wedge. This additional procedure takes an enormous amount of time but it is done to achieve and attain the highest spin performance possible.
"I am happy that our wedges helped so many players get out of the many perfectly placed sand bunkers as well as get out of the deep Kentucky Blue rough," added Kamoda.
FOURTEEN GOLF is a burgeoning golf equipment company that takes great pride in their tour program. This year FOURTEEN GOLF officially signed Japanese golfing prodigy and PGA Professional Ryuji Imada to a three year endorsement deal which includes a staff bag, head covers, hat, umbrella and wedges. He joins FOURTEEN GOLF team members PGA Professionals Chad Collins and Arjun Atwal.
