Nippon Shaft Wins PGA Tour Finale At Disney's Magnolia Course
CARLSBAD, Calif. (November 12, 2012) - Nippon Shaft won the final PGA TOUR event of the season Sunday (Nov. 11), recording a final round 3-under par 69 to seal a two-stroke victory at the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic.

It was the third PGA TOUR victory of the year for Nippon Shaft in addition to the Sony Open and the Wyndham Championship. The company also has won this year on the Champions Tour, LPGA Tour, European PGA Tour and others.

Sunday's 28-year-old winner used Nippon Shaft's N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 prototype steel shafts in his irons to shoot 16-under on rounds of 68-64-71-69 at the Magnolia GC at the Disney Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Two other Nippon Shaft players finished in the top 20 at Disney. The Zimbabwe native used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 prototype ORA steel shafts in his irons while the Swede used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120s in his irons. Both finished at 9-under par for the tournament.

"Nippon Shaft is very excited for the winner of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic," said Hiro Fukuda, head of sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. "We also congratulate the other two players who used Nippon Shaft and finished in the top 20 on Sunday. Both have had excellent seasons."

Nippon Shaft products are available either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world's top iron brands.

In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Shaftology - Nippon Shaft's dedicated clubfitter network - and through the custom club departments of top club manufacturers.

Nippon Shaft manufactures all of its steel and graphite shafts in a state-of-the-art factory at its headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. The company's integrated production lines are strictly monitored and controlled with thorough checks conducted responsibly through the entire production process, Fukuda said. As a result, Nippon Shaft is able to control high product quality - from material selection to final testing.

Nippon Shaft has more than 100 professional victories worldwide. Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia, where it controls 80 percent of the golf shaft market.

Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer. Nippon Shaft's North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
