Event offers equipment demos, giveaways and entertainer of the year contest
ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2013) - Golfweek's Golfest, presented by CenturyLink/Prism, marks its 10th anniversary with yet another action-packed weekend at The Polo Fields at The Villages. The highly anticipated outdoor golf festival and demo day - which will be held March 8-9 - invites golfers of all ages and skill levels to test out the latest golf equipment, all while enjoying a weekend chock full of golf-centric activities, such as contests, giveaways and "The Villages Golf Entertainer of the Year" competition.
"When we started Golfweek's Golfest 10 years ago, I never would have imagined that it would grow to be such a powerhouse event," said Director of Events Armand Cimaroli. "Each year we find new ways to up the ante, and I can't wait for attendees to see all the fun and excitement we have planned for this milestone anniversary."
This year, Golfweek's Golfest attendees will have the opportunity to:
• Get a free sleeve of golf balls by registering at the Golfweek booth (while supplies last)
• Enter to win passes to the Solheim Cup and PGA Championship
• Participate in putting contests to win golf trips to the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational (Orlando, Fla.) or the LPGA CME Titleholders (Naples, Fla.)
• Compete in the CenturyLink/Prism Par-3 Challenge and the Columbia Par Car $1 Million Hole-In-One Challenge
• Purchase merchandise with exclusive event pricing on select golf equipment brands
In addition to the free demos, games and giveaways, Golfweek's Golfest at The Villages will feature first-rate golf shows on The Villages Regional Hospital Stage, which will include the "The Villages Golf Entertainer of the Year" competition and a host of "Improve Your Game" clinics headed by The Villages Golf Academy.
Golfweek's Golfest is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 at all golf facilities in The Villages beginning Feb. 18. Same-day tickets can also be purchased at the gates for $10 per day for adults; children 16 and under are free. Parking at the event is free.
